What does a Retail Marketing Coordinator do?

  • Assist with the development, launch, and ongoing management of the Springbig loyalty program for Verona Collective dispensaries.
  • Oversee customer engagement through SMS, email, and in-app messaging to support guest retention, repeat visits, and revenue growth.
  • Track and report on loyalty program performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Support Rovertown implementation for convenience stores, helping to create and manage purchase-based promotions tailored to guest behavior.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop promotional offers and ensure timely execution.
  • Analyze campaign performance and recommend adjustments to improve conversion rates and customer response.
  • Develop monthly marketing planograms for Maple Leaf, SavOn, Verona Collective, and other retail brands, detailing placement of signage, shelf tags, and promotional displays.
  • Distribute planograms to retail locations and conduct on-site audits to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate the production and distribution of signage, ensuring consistency across all retail brands.
  • Support the development and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns for multiple brands, ensuring clear messaging, accurate deadlines, and timely delivery.
  • Work with creative teams to ensure marketing collateral (emails, signage, print, and digital) is on-brand and on-message.
  • Monitor campaigns throughout the customer lifecycle, identifying opportunities to increase guest engagement and participation.
  • Analyze campaign performance using internal data, CRM tools, and external reporting platforms.
  • Use data to develop insights and recommendations that improve future marketing campaigns, loyalty initiatives, and guest experience.
  • Prepare and present weekly and monthly performance reports for senior leadership.
  • Work as a direct extension of the Director of Retail Marketing, supporting the broader vision of marketing strategy across retail and cannabis operations.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Marketing, Retail Operations, IT, and other departments to ensure cohesive marketing execution.
  • Serve as a liaison with 3rd-party vendors to coordinate print materials, promotional signage, and creative asset production.
  • Maintain a system for tracking marketing requests and ensuring projects are completed on time.
  • Keep an inventory of marketing materials and coordinate the timely production and delivery of assets to stores.
  • Assist with project management, following up on timelines, tracking deadlines, and ensuring completion of all marketing deliverables.
  • Support the development of guest-facing content for retail websites, in-store messaging, and promotional email/SMS campaigns.
  • Contribute ideas for creative marketing concepts, seasonal promotions, and guest engagement campaigns.
  • Stay informed of industry trends and best practices in guest engagement, loyalty marketing, and customer experience.
  • Assist the Director of Retail Marketing with daily tasks, ad-hoc projects, and strategic initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned, take the lead on specific marketing projects as needed.

Key Attributes we're seeking as a Retail Marketing Coordinator are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a marketing role
  • Proficiency in project management and communication tools (like Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Suite).
  • Ability to understand and utilize data from CRM systems and campaign performance analytics.
  • Strong project management skills — must be highly organized, able to prioritize multiple deadlines, and manage fast-paced deliverables.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, concise messaging for store signage, promotional offers, and guest communications.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with multiple teams.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
