Overview:

Join the Mastercard Safety Net team as a UX/UI Designer and play a critical role in designing intuitive, user-centric interfaces that help protect our global network against large-scale fraud. Safety Net is Mastercard's proprietary fraud mitigation platform that provides a secondary layer of defense by monitoring network activity and blocking suspicious transactionsminimizing financial and reputational impact during cyber attacks.

As a UX/UI Designer, you'll collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering to translate complex requirements into elegant, scalable design solutions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of user experience, business needs, and technical feasibility.

Role:
Provides designs specifications for and develops new products and services or their components. Defines functional and technical requirements. Researches new technologies and competitive products to develop additional product ideas and enhancements. Performs launch-related activities associated with new or highly customized product implementations, including marketing/communication and collateral. Defines business and technical requirements and manages the relationships of technical resources and the Global Technology Organization to maintain and build out platforms

Major Accountabilities:
Lead end-to-end UX design efforts for new products and enhancements, from research and wireframes to visual design and developer handoff
Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to understand business goals, system capabilities, and technical constraints
Conduct UX research with customers and internal stakeholders to inform priorities and validate designs
Translate insights into design artifacts such as user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, and interactive prototypes
Contribute to and help evolve our UX Design System to ensure visual and functional consistency
Work alongside engineers and QA to ensure that design intent is implemented accurately and effectively
Help define UX best practices and processes as we grow the UX function within the Safety Net team

Knowledge / Experience:
Proven experience designing UX for complex, enterprise-level web applications
Strong skills in UX research, interaction design, and visual design
Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, InVision, Adobe XD)
Ability to communicate design decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Familiarity with front-end development (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and ability to collaborate closely with engineers
Comfort navigating trade-offs between usability, performance, and development effort

Skills Required:
Understanding of product development concepts and practices across the product development life cycle
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage a significant workload
Advanced organization and project management skills
Solid verbal and written communications skills
Ability to understand, interpret and analyze financial information

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
