Substation P&C Design Engineer** Location **Columbus** Secondary Locations Job Code **18168** \# of openings **1** ( **Substation P&C Design Engineer** **Job Summary** POWER Engineers, Member of WSP is seeking a mid-level Electrical Engineer with experience in substation protection and control (P&C) design. This position is in the Power Delivery Substation Department of our Columbus office located in New Albany, Ohio. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within driving distance of the office). **Responsibilities** + Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations + Perform detailed design of one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling + Occasional travel will be required **Required Education/Experience** + Ability to function as a Substation P&C Design Engineer in our Columbus office + BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) degree or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) from an accredited university, preferably with a power option + 3+ years of experience in utility substation design + Experience in 15kV through 230kV substation design and IEEE/ANSI standards + Experience in managing small project teams + Experience filling the role of substation design engineer for several projects occurring concurrently + Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel + Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship **Desired Education/Experience** + 5+ years of experience in utility substation design + Engineer in Training (EIT) registration or Professional Engineering license (PE) + Experience in 230kV through 500kV substation design POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is a global consulting environmental and engineering firm and one of the top design firms in the energy sector.
