About the role
This role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and optimization of process equipment and systems to ensure efficient and reliable operations. This role works on projects from concept through to implementation and handover. This role collaborates with various functions to deliver innovative solutions that meet both company and industry standards.

- Manufacturing network of 24 sites and c. 200 CMOs (Contract Manufacturers)
- Using 14,500 packaging components and 2,000 raw materials from over 2,000 vendors
- 20000 SKUs to more than 100 markets in 14 Business Units
- Portfolio of consumer centric products across 35 distinct technology groups
- Complexity of 4000 formulations meeting different regulatory requirements with 13000 licenses
- Network of 150 distribution centers.
Key responsibilities
- Design, Development and Optimization
- Conduct thorough analysis of existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Implement changes to optimize process efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Ensure process designs meet performance metrics, including cost, quality, and safety.
- Provide engineering support during production trials and scale-up activities.
- Project Management
- Manage small packaging project improvements from concept to completion, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating with other departments.
- Compliance and Safety
- Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with relevant industry standards and regulations, such as ISO, FDA, and GMP.
- Own the Site Process Safety Plan and all corresponding actions defined from IBM audit.
- Installation and Commissioning
- Develop and execute commissioning for engineering manufacturing installations.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning and start-up of mechanical systems and machinery, ensuring they are operational and meet safety standards.
- Vendor Management
- Source and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement innovation to enhance efficiency and safety.
- Maintenance, Troubleshooting and Technical Support
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to the manufacturing team to resolve process-related issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions for deviations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance and production teams, solving complex process equipment issues.
Qualifications and skills
Essential
- Bachelors degree in electrical, chemical engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.
- 3- 5 years of experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing environment preferably focusing on process equipment.
- Strong leadership skills, In-depth knowledge of engineering principles and safety regulations.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Knowledge of process industry standards and regulations.
- Experience with automation and robotics in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience with process simulation and optimization tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills
- Time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
