Job Description Summary:
The Design Director on our team serves the role of The Framer. They ensure the work, problem, and objectives are well framed and set up for design teams to ignite and execute within a pod or vertical. Focused on visual and interactive craft, you will lead by example and drive the definition, strategy, and design concepts against specific briefs from the business and our product partners. While you will have the responsibility of 2-3 direct reports, you will find yourself mainly mentoring and leading designers while balancing a healthy dose of stakeholder management and buying on provocative design work. You will not only be supported by a set of product, content, and research designers but also designer managers who will partner with you to maintain project momentum and ways of working for the design team. 90% of this role is pure design and the level comes with an expectation that the design quality can spread not only within your pod but across pods and into our product design system team.
