The Opportunity ...

This role will report directly to the Engineer Manager.

Major Responsibility Area #1:

  • Key engineer assigned to lead all areas of JBT Marel's citrus processing equipment portfolio, to include safety, value engineering, engineering that impacts business driven initiatives, and standardization with other JBT Marel sites.
  • Design or redesign machine parts and assemblies to required customer specifications, focusing on design for function, manufacturing, assembly, service, safety, cost, and inventory efficiency.
  • Work with Manufacturing shop, Planning, Sales & Marketing, and Engineering Management to determine the feasibility of designs and subsequent progress of designs or design changes.
  • Submit, review, research, and implement Engineering Change Requests (ECR's) as required.
  • Utilize technical relationships with suppliers to optimize product designs.
  • Assist with maintenance of current technical standards for JBT Marel processing equipment.

Major Responsibility Area #2:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and optimize process designs, incorporating P&ID to ensure accurate and efficient system layouts.
  • Utilize expertise in P&ID to create detailed schematics that support the design and implementation of complex industrial processes.
  • Lead process design initiatives by interpreting P&ID diagrams, ensuring alignment with project specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Analyze and improve existing processes by reviewing P&ID documentation and applying advanced process design techniques.
  • Provide technical guidance on P&ID and process design to support the development of innovative solutions for operational challenges.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards by integrating P&ID into process design workflows and conducting thorough reviews.

Major Responsibility Area #3:

  • Keep abreast of industry trends and competitive technology in the areas of equipment design, function, and maintenance.
  • Research and implement innovations in machinery components to optimize cost, service life, maintainability, and manufacturability.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to optimize design-for-manufacturing standards for all JBT Marel processing equipment. Explore new manufacturing technologies and methods.

Education:

Mandatory: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering

Favored: Masters Degree in Engineering or other scientific discipline.

Skills and Experinece:

Mandatory: Three to five years of mechanical engineering in a related technical field.

Favored: Five to eight years of engineering product design, preferable in food processing or a related field.
