Job Description Summary

This position is in GE Healthcare's MIM Software business which makes vendor-neutral imaging software to standardize your workflow and simplify increasingly complex clinical scenarios. Leading global healthcare organizations use MIM to give patients more precise, personalized care.

As a UI/UX Designer at MIM Software, you will utilize a variety of insights from across the company to develop software that meets our users' needs. You will improve the established products that our customers use every day and design new products and features for tomorrow.

We are looking for passionate, visual communicators to help us create software that enhances patient care. You'll play a key role in designing intuitive, accessible, and efficient software that increases customer satisfaction, minimizes user effort, and elevates the overall user experience.

Job Description

What You'll Do:

  • Design mockups and interactive prototypes for MIM's external and internal products
  • Create and implement user testing for new features and functionality
  • Develop deep knowledge of one or two markets or product lines
  • Build relationships with relevant leaders from engineering, clinical science, and product teams and collaborate on all aspects of the design process
  • Support engineers during development by providing design iterations as needed and reviewing outputs
  • Develop personas for external and internal customers/customer groups
  • Lead or support external and internal process mapping
  • Design icons for MIM's external and internal products
  • Manage and contribute to collaborative design systems

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a design-related field plus 4 years experience, or 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Aptitude to develop clinical and anatomical knowledge and learn on the job; medical background not required
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies
  • Strong ability to understand complex systems and translate them into user-friendly designs
  • Strong visual communication and visual problem-solving skills, including proficient use of composition, line form, color, and typography
  • Proficiency with design software; experience with Figma and FigJam a plus
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and communicate with a diverse group of stakeholders; strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills
